Using the DH_KeyGen Module
 

The DH_KeyGen module is a utility that you use in SynthEdit to generate the License Keys that you issue to your customers. It should not be included in your projects. Note that without knowledge of your product's Product ID, it is not possible to generate a valid key for that product, and the number of possible Product IDs is astronomical.

The module does not appear in any panel views, and will work only in the main SynthEdit structure window, not inside a container. Operation is simple. Click in the black rectangle, and you will see the following dialog:

Enter your VST's Product ID and the customer's User ID, and click the Generate button.

A License Key consisting of 5 groups of 4 hexadecimal digits is generated. Select, copy, and paste it to a safe place for you records, and to send to the customer.

The customer should receive the License Key and the User ID, but not the Product ID.

When the Customer enters this User ID and License Key combination into your VST's Product Registration dialog, the License Key is verified against the key generated from the entered User ID and the embedded Product ID.
