SynthEdit Resources:

Get SynthEdit at www.synthedit.com.

The SynthEdit Users Group is a very active group with lots of very helpful members.

The SynthEdit wiki is a growing treasure trove of SynthEdit knowledge and tips.

http://www.xoxos.net offers a good introductory-level SynthEdit tutorial and a huge number of very sophisticated VSTi plugins.

SE skins, an animated knob rendering tool, and a number of prefabs and modules are available at otiumFX, along with the Compadre beatpuncher compressor, Sonitex sonic texturing plugin and other VSTs.

Programming wizard Chris Kerry's site offers several packages of very efficient and useful modules at very reasonable prices. These are must haves for serious SE development.

No SE developer should be without the vast assortment of free KDL modules available at Kelly Lynch's site.

Oli Larkin offers a number of SynthEdit modules and some great VST plugins.

Unkargherth, co-author of UD-Reverb, has additional SE modules available at http://www.uv.es/%7Eruizcan/p_modules.htm, and his colleagues at Elogoxa offer a variety of cool VSTs free of charge.

Some of my Favorite SE Synths and Effects (in no particular order):

Be sure to visit  AlgoMusic, home of the world class M42 Nebula, M51 Galaxy, Enceladus and AMB ElectraBass, as well as a collection of free VSTis.

Kong Audio's VSTis feature meticulously sampled traditional Chinese instruments. Many of the patches have sophisticated multiple articulations controlled by key switching, the mod wheel and aftertouch.

Krakli Software is home to YAVA2, StringZ2, Karnage, plus a host of other free synths and effects.

Ugo's VST synths, including the unique and amazingly versatile String Theory, can be downloaded at http://www.ugoaudio.com/

For nice emulations of 2 classic synths, check out the MiniMogueVA and the Arppe2600va by the Voltkitchen Group.

Gunnar Ekornċs's memorymoon synthesizer emulates another classic, with class.

Don't miss NOVAFLASH's Oxytocin.

I like the huge sound of Tubeohm's Fluid synth, especially for ambient textures.

Those with an interest in microtonal music should check out Homegrown Sounds' Astralis.

NorthernBeat Audio's Daedalus is a well-designed, well-executed and excellent-sounding VA synth.

H.G. Fortune features the X-Wheel of Fortune, which can generate entire tracks algorithmically based on 8 instruments-parts, as well as the ProtoPlasm21 and STS-26 synthesizers, which are especially great when you need unusual or other-worldly textures.

Another source of out-of-this-world sounds is Time Control Productions, whose Bizune and Mantragora synths can create a wide range of sounds, ranging from "interesting" to bizarre. Alesis Micron users will be interested in Microzune, a VST editor that integrates the Micron with VST host automation and MIDI control surfaces.

Fretted Synth Audio features audio-triggered synths and other guitar-related VSTs.

Innovative multiphonic spatial VSTs can be found at AcousModules (français) (English).

The Moppletron  takes an innovative approach to synthesis, using the Discrete-Summation Formulae (DSF) technique.

Additional fine SE-based VST/VSTi plugins are available from:

Audiosonic
Audiosyn
Klanglabs

NOVAkILL
Odo synths
Topaz Productions
Tweakbench
